Faf du Plessis Biography, Family
Faf du Plessis is a South African cricketer, Currently serving as captain for the South African cricket team in all formats. Du Plessis is a right-handed batsman and leg spin bowler. He was one of the most talented and consistent player in the South African team.
His batting is mixed with rigorous classic and defensive style. Du Plessis love to spend much time on the crease, He follows slow and steady wins the race manner by switching gears according to the match conditions.
Du Plessis was born on 13 July 1984 in Pretoria, South Africa. His birth name is Francois du Plessis. He went to African High School For Boys in Pretoria. His fellow teammates AB de Villiers, Heino Kuhn are also studied in this school. Faf completed his graduation from the University of Pretoria.
Career
After coming out of the school Faf did not get many opportunities unlike his teammate AB de Villiers, So he went to play county cricket in England. In 2008 Du Plessis signed a contract with Lancashire as a kolpak player.
In 2010 the deal with Lancashire was expired due to new kolpak rules. He played a good season in domestic cricket with Titans, He scored 567 runs in 10 matches including three centuries. His performance caught the attention of selectors.
In 2011 Du Plessis played his first one-day match against India, where he scored 60 runs and also he was chosen for 2011 world cup squad. In the same year, Faf signed a deal with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL (Indian Premier League).
In 2012 Du Plessis made his test match debut against Australia. Du Plessis saved this match from Australia by scoring a half-century and century in consecutive innings. Faf scored 188 runs with 78 in first innings and 110 in second innings and he got man of the match award for his unbeaten innings.
In December 2012, he was named as the captain of the team for T20s against New Zealand series.
In 2013 Faf scored his second Test hundred against India while chasing 458 runs. South Africa came close to chase the targeted score but ended with a shortfall of 8 runs. The match ended in a draw with South Africa 450/7, Faf scored 134 runs in 309 balls.
In 2014 South Africa was playing one-day tri-series with Australia and Zimbabwe. In this series, Faf scored three consecutive centuries and failed to score another hundred in a row by just a shortfall of 4 runs.
In the first match, Du Plessis scored his first one day century (106 runs from 98 balls) while chasing 327 runs against Australia. Faf and AB de Villiers partnership made 206 runs for 3rd wicket which was highest score for South Africa against Australia. In Second match Faf scored 126 runs from 109 balls against Australia and he scored 121 runs from 140 balls against Zimbabwe. Du Plessis got man of the series award for his resilient performance.
Du Plessis has a record of for playing most number innings before scoring a duck or zero, He played 108 innings without scoring zero, this was the most innings by a cricketer in international cricket.
In 2015 T20 match against West Indies Du Plessis scored his first T20 century (119 runs from 56 balls).
In 2016, Faf du Plessis named the test captain for South Africa after AB de Villiers stepping down from the position.
Du Plessis was the first international player to score a century in day/night test match.
In 2017 De Villiers stepped down from one-day team captaincy, Faf was named ODI team captain for South Africa.
In the same year, Faf du Plessis scored his career-best 185 runs in a one-day match against Sri Lanka.
Du Plessis has been involved in ball tampering issue and has been found guilty against Pakistan and Australia matches.

Du Plessis was born on 13 July 1984 in Pretoria city. His father name is Francois du Duplessis, he played for Northern Transvaal and Du Plessis mother is a housewife.
Faf du Plessis is the second cousin of Namibian rugby player Marcel du Plessis.
Du Plessis Wife
On 23rd November 2013, Du Plessis married his girlfriend Imari Visser. She is a photographer and currently working as a marketing assistant at Nimue Skin Technology.
In 2017 the couple blessed with a baby girl, they named her as Amelie du Plessis.
