Dhee (Singer) Biography, Family

Dhee is an Indian-Australian singer who has prominently worked in Tamil and Telugu cinema industry. Dhee is best known for her songs “Ey Sandakaara” and “Rowdy Baby”.

Dhee full name is Deekshitha Venkadeshan, She was born on 26 June 1998 in Sydney, Australia. She attended Northmead Highschool from 2006 to 2015. Dhee mother Meenakshi Iyer was remarried to the famous Tamil music director Santhosh Narayan.

Dhee started her singing career in 2013 with her stepfather movie albums Pizza: II and Cuckoo. In 2014 Dhee sang “Naan Nee” song in Pa Ranjith’s Madras film, which became a huge hit and she was nominated for the category of best playback singer in Filmfare Awards and Vijay Awards.

Because of her studies, she took a break from singing for one year. In 2016 she recorded two songs “Ey Sandakaara” and “Usuru Narumbuley” for the film Irudhi Suttru. Ey Sandakaara song became huge a hit and Dhee was noticed by the majority of the audience. This movie was remade in Telugu and Dhee sang Telugu version songs “O Sakkanoda” and “Gundelothulalo” which also become a huge hit.

In 2018 Deekshitha recorded songs for her father music composition films Kaala and Vada Chennai. At the end of the year Dhee was collaborated with famous music director Yuvan Shankar Raja for the “Rowdy Baby” song in Maari 2 film. The song Rowdy Baby became a sensational hit and it recorded more than 300 million views in youtube just in few days after its release, which was the highest in Tamil video songs.
