Megan Schutt is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Australian national team. Schutt was widely regarded as one of the best fast bowlers in women’s cricket.
Megan Schutt was born on 15 January 1993 in Adelaide. She started playing cricket from school level. In 2009 she played her debut domestic season with South Australian Scorpions. She was just 16 years old when she started her domestic career.
Schutt performance in women’s national cricket league impressed selectors and her name got selected in Australian National team to play against New Zealand.
In 2012 Megan Schutt made her debut in Rose Bowl Series against New Zealand. Her performance was poor in the first match as she gave expensive runs with no wickets. In the second match, she performed well and took 2 wickets.
Megan was selected in the 2013 women’s world cup squad. Megan’s performance in the world cup was outstanding she took 15 wickets in 7 matches and helped Australia to lift the world cup. She became the highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
Megan was the part of Ashes series 2015 which was held in England. She played a key role in winning the Ashes in England after 14 years.
In 2018 tri-series, Schutt took hat-trick wickets against India. She became the first Australian female cricketer to take hat-trick wickets in T20 match.
Megan was the part of 2018 T20 world cup winning team.
In 2018, Megan became the captain of domestic team South Australian Scorpions.
Megan Schutt plays for Adelaide Strikers in Women’s Big Bash League.

Megan Schutt came out as lesbian, She was in a relationship from a long time with her partner Jess Hoyolake. The couple decided to go ahead with the marriage after the Australian government passed the same-sex marriage bill.
On 31 March 2019, Megan Schutt tied the knot with her longtime partner Jess Hoyolake. Schutt was the second Australian cricketer after Alex Blackwell who is also lesbian got married to Lynsey Askew in 2015.
