Her full name is Lea Marie Maureen Tahuhu. She was born on 23 September 1990 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Tahuhu started playing cricket from school level.
She went to Aranui High School in Christchurch. At the age of 18, she won the Peter Hooton Memorial Scholarship and Tahuhu started playing domestic cricket. At the age of 20, she made into the squad of White Ferns.
In 2011, Tahuhu played her debut international match against Australia, where her performance was not remarkable.
Tahuhu was the part of 2013 world cup series which was held in India. In this series, she took her career-best 4 of 27 against Sri Lanka.
Tahuhu emerged as the most trusted bowler in death overs, as she has the talent of attacking batswoman with her pace.
In 2018 she got the central contract from New Zealand Cricket.
