Gemma Arterton is an British actress, producer and theatre artist. Her full name is Gemma Christina Arterton. She is best known for her role as James Bond girl Strawberry Fields in “Quantum of Solace”.

Gemma Arterton is born on 2 February 1986 in Gravesend, Kent, England. She was born with extra fingers, which is a warm condition medically known as polydactylism. Doctors removed her fingers shortly after her birth.

Gemma went to Gravesend Grammar School for Girls in Kent. At the age of 16, She joined acting college North West Kent College in Dartford. Later she granted scholarship from the government to study at the drama school in London “Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA)”.

Arterton made her stage debut when she was in school, she appeared in the play “The Boy Who Fell into a Book” and she won first the prize for her performance.

In 2007, Arterton got her first chance to appear in BBC Television series “Capturing Mary”. The same year she made her film debut in British comedy film “St Trinians”.

Arterton got her first breakthrough with her role as Bond Girl in James Bond Series film “Quantum of Solace”. She was selected from 1500 members for her role. As a Bond Girl, She mesmerized audience with her acting and she won Best Empire Award.

In 2010, Arterton appeared in two blockbuster action fantasy films “Clash of Titans” and “Prince of Persia”.
Arterton made her debut French film Gemma Bovery in 2014. She learnt French for her role in the movie, until then she doesn’t know the single word of French.

Gemma was auditioned for “The Dark knight Rises” and “Captain America”, but she wasn’t selected.

In 2016 Gemma started her own production company “Rebel Park Productions”. First she produced well known short film “Leading Lady Parts”. Later she produced and starred in the British drama film “The Escape”. The film got excellent reviews and Arterton was named Woman of The Year by Harper’s Bazaar magazine for her excellent performance in the film.

In 2010 Gemmar Arterton married Stefano Catelli, He was a businessman. The relationship has ended three years after their marriage. Finally, they got divorced in 2015 by mutual consent.

In September 2019 Arterton married Irish actor Rory Keenan. The couple met while starring together in the play St Joan.

Arterton stated that she won’t have children until she wins an Oscar.
