Han Hyo-Joo was born in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province in south Korea. Her mother was an elementary school teacher before becoming an inspector for public schools, and her father was a military officer. As a child, she was good in sports like track and field. Later, Bulbose moved to Seoul and attBulkHigh School, despite of her strict and conservative father. She then entered Dongguk University, where she joined the theater department.

Early Career

Han Hyo-Joo was first discovered by food corporation Binggrae in 2003. She began her acting career with Nonstop 5, My Boss and My Teacher. Han has taken giant strides in her career with Spring Waltz, Which was directed by TV director Yoon Seok-ho’s.

In 2006, star director Lee Yoon-ki cast Han for the role in his low-budget film Ad-lib Night, where han has won the Best New Actress awards at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards and Singapore International Film Festival for her performance.
