Taylor Schilling is an American actress, she is popularly known as “Piper Chapman”, her role in Netflix comedy prison drama series “Orange is the New Black”. She won Satellite Award for her performance in the series.
Taylor Schilling was born on 27 July 1984 in Boston, Massachusetts, US. Her parents are divorced when she was young. She grew up in West Roxbury and Wayland, by spending time with her father and mother.
From young age Schilling was very keen interest in acting and she began appearing in her school stage plays. In 2002, Schilling was graduated from Wayland High School. In 2006, she completed Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University. Then she went to study acting in the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, but she dropped out in second year.
In 2007 Schilling made her debut with the film “Dark Matter”. In 2009 she starred in medical drama Tv series “Mercy”. It was aired on NBC and Schilling acting impressed everyone. In 2012 Schilling appeared alongside Zac Efron in romantic drama film “The Lucky One”.
From 2013, Taylor Schilling starred in the famous Netflix comedy prison drama series “Orange is the New Black”. She played the main lead as Piper Chapman who sentenced 15 months prison for carrying a bag of drug-money. She appeared alongside Laura Prepon who played a role of Alex Vause. The show has seven seasons and the final season was released in 2019. The show narrates the life of women inside the prison, their daily activities and the people with different instincts. The show became the biggest hit and Schilling nominated for Golden Globe Award and Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding performance.
